I have this amp pushing 2 sets of door speakers tweeters in the front and my single 10 inch subwoofer with ease. I actually can’t even crank the amp up too high because the speakers can’t handle it. The amp is big but cmon its a 5 channel amp.
This Amp is absolutely the way to go if you want your door speakers plus a subwoofer amped. I have been very very pleased at how much power this amp puts out. I have this paired with a pair of Polk audio MM Component 6.75” speakers in the front and the MM 4×6” plate series in the back, and I have never heard a system with such crisp and clear hi and mid range. The amp puts out more than enough power for my door speakers. It also comes with a low pass filter on both front and rear channels as well, just in case you want to put more subs than just the one on the mono channel. They are both able to be bridged and produce macho power for more subs. There is also a Hi pass filter on each channels that has frequency range knobs built in, just in case you have smaller speakers in the back than in the front, you can filter different frequencies on the front or rear channel. On the mono sub channel, there is a low pass filter that you can change the frequencies as well, range is from 30 to 500 hz, with the optional sub sonic filter. This will eliminate frequencies that you can not hear allowing more power to go to the audible frequencies, and cutting some of the distortion as well. I have this mono channel driving a pair of 12” kicker CVR’s wired down to 1 Ohm so I am getting the Full power out of the amplifier. This amp pushes these subs nicely. They hit so hard on this amp. I have had them on 3 other amps and this one by far has made them hit the hardest. I’m not real sure when to stop turning it up though because the wattage on the amp is about 400 more than the recommended peak power rating on the subs, so I’m not real sure when to cut it off because so far they have just kept getting louder and louder with no audible distortion.
The amp looks super sweet. It has such a nice and sleek look, and looks very very well built and is! This thing is built like a tank, the hard case over the top comes off and there is another full steel jacket protecting it so there is more than enough protection. The amp at night lights up the back of my truck nicely. It has 4 NIce LED’s that light up the emblems on each side that match my pioneer premier 610BT nicely. The casing that goes over the amp looks very sleek too. The panels on the sides of the amp are very nice and accessible. One thing that would be nicer though is not having to take the entire casing off of it to access the wiring panel. but the panels are overall very nice and organized.
Power! This thing produces some power, unfortunately it is not as efficient as they brag about it being. I have a GMC 2500HD with the 6.0L and a 130AMP alternator, but my lights still dim with the kick of the bass. I have never compared this to any other amp as far as amount of power it pulls but I still would think its much more efficient than any other amplifiers that put out anywhere near 2,200 Watts. I will probably eventually either a capacitor or an extra battery on my truck to keep them from dimming.
Over all Great Job Polk Audio, This is an absolutely awesome piece of equipment. I have never used an amp nor seen an amp this powerful and clean looking as well as clean sounding
