I am hooking up a 550W car audio amplifier to two marine batteries, how long will the batteries last?

This setup is for a mobile radio with 4 6×9 and a Kenwood 35×4 Car CD player. It ran last year for about 20 hours with the 2 batteries and no amp. I just want to see if anyone can give me a guess as to how long it will last with the 500W amp.

bought a brand new kenwood deck. only problem is anytime the volume is over 20 on it, it just shuts off all sound. if u lower below 20 it still wont play anything on tuner or cd, the only way to get it to play again is to shut it off and turn it back on. Now it can be over vol 20 if the song is soft but if at any point in time the song turns to hard rock or loud it will shut off again. My friend has told me i might have to bypass the amp in my ws6 96 trans am. Does this sound like a solution? any ideas or comments are appreciated. thanks

MOST LIKELY YOU HAVE THE POWER ANTENNA WIRE HOOKED UP TO YOUR AMP AS THE REMOTE LEAD. THE POWER ANTENNA WIRE SHOULD BE BLUE OR BLUE WITH A WHITE STRIP. THE REMOTE ON WIRE TO TURN ON YOU AMP IS MOST USUALLY ORANGE

There both just as good as the other, it’s all in what your looking for, and which brand you like. the color of the display, and the over all look of the decks.
Me personally I like JVC better, because they don’t brake down as much as Kenwood does, I have about 50 Kenwood deck in my shop with stupid little things wrong with them, but those little things cost more to fix( in parts) then what the decks are worth.

power wire to battery with in-line fuse….ground to frame of car(seat belt bolts work great).. then the remote wire (usually small and blue) goes to the “remote turn on” wire on the back of the radio or tap it into the radio fuse in the cars fuse box

okay so i have kenwood 1800 watt amp and 2 alpine type r’s.
and the kenwood amp has two sets of terminals, 2 negative and 2 positive. and i was wondering if i could just use one terminal to power them both?and since there 4 ohms how could i run them at 2 ohms ?

parallel wire them: wire the positives and negatives to the same terminal. channelwise, youd wanna bridge them (even though it says monoblock, they are supposed to be bridged).

2003 Mini Cooper Car Stereo Install with T3 Audio, Hybrid Audio, Kenwood, and Rockford Fosgate

Just a quick video of one of our recent projects. We recorded this for anyone out there who has a Mini Cooper that is interested in upgrading from their horrible sounding factory stereos. If you would like some information or ideas, please let us know! *We usually recommend mounting the amp in the rear of the vehicle, but this particular installation was requested to be mounted under the front passenger seat. i have a kenwood car cd player amd i was just driving and this thing came up flashing protect… i have pressed all the buttons on it and they do nothing… it doesnt matter what i do it just keeps flashing protect and i nt fiond the kenwood website… i dont think they have one… please help

Hi,

I am planning to get this car audio system:

It mentions that there is a USB interface? I couldn’t find any interface in the front. Could someone advise me how can USB sticks be used with this device.

Here’s the link to the page where you can download the actual owner’s manual for the device:

It has a drop-down box where you can choose other Kenwood devices, too. Just in case you want to check-out the full features of another device.

For this particular device, it appears the USB connector is in the back and you have to use a USB extension cable to actually connect your deivce. Which is the smarter way to design the system since most people will connect their MP3 players to it and would want to be able to set them down. Also makes installing dash-mount cradle easier. Page 10 of the PDF Instruction Manual in the link above shows what the cable may look like if you were using just a regular thumb drive.

i wish to buy car speakers for my kenwood car audio system in my Maruti Alto Car. its output power is given as 45*4 W. so is its total output power is180 Watts? can i connect speakers with total peak power 220 Watts or in that range?
which are all the positions that i can fit the speakers in my car? please suggest some series of speakers tat will match the head unit specifications. Thanks in advance…

on the manual of your head unit should say the watts rms…(continous power that a speaker can handle)…look at the watts rms and buy speakers that match those watts rms or buy bigger speakers…lets say that your head unit gives 20 watts rms per channel…(I) would buy speakers rated at 25-30 watts rms…that way there would be less distortion when you turn up the volume…and you won’t run the risk of blowing your speakers

My Playlist

I would guess the same way as any other car stereo, when you’ve found the channel you want to store, hold the numbered button you want to store it to for a couple of seconds.

Kenwood products are only sold through their dealer network. There is a factory online store, but they only sell “accessories” like remote controls and faceplates.
