We’ve seen the FM radio, the tape player, the CD player and now – the Digital media player. New for 2010 is the Digital media player which plays solely your digital media – meaning there’s no need for CDs any longer as it includes an Mp3/iPod dock instead of a CD player.

A digital media player is a great gift for those who never leave their iPod behind. In fact, it’s this year’s must have as it not only docks your digital media device, getting rid of the irritating wires that clog up your car, new digital media players also have a number of other useful and exclusive functions.

The most recent release of digital media player is the Sony DSX-S100, a digital media stereo that includes a user friendly menu that allows you to navigate via artist, album etc from your stereo, the Tune Tray that safely stores your iPod from prying eyes and a very useful warning system that tells you that you’ve left your iPod behind after turning the ignition off – you’ll certainly never forget your iPod ever again!

I have a Sony CDX-71W Radio, I’m have trouble with the back speaker in my car, its not blown, its just not getting power to the speaker. I need to know what colored wire in the back of the radio gives power to the back right speaker, if your looking at the car from the rear of the car. I tested it with a multimeter and I’m not getting any readings at all. Anyone know where I can find a diagram for free on what each wire does, or know what each colored wires do what?
I have no idea what wires go to what, just for the record. Only wire I know is the Remote wire.

I know most of the wiring harness kits for aftermarket stereo installation uses the same wiring colors as modern head units, but I want to be sure. And I lost the documentation for my CDX-CA710X. Search results pointed me towards brand new stereos and places that charge $ 5 for a schematic.
OK, my stock wiring harness is perfectly intact. I have the harness adapter that plugs into the car’s harness. The adapter packaging says which wires do what, but I don’t have anything like that for my head unit. I know the adapter’s wires are of different colors than the car’s harness, but I don’t want to do any “guess and check” type stuff. That’s the reason I have my current deck – I somehow managed to fry my old one because I wasn’t sure which wire did what (this was two years and as many cars ago). I’m trying to avoid that this time around.

Why dont you just buy the an instalation kit for your car at like wal mart for no more then 20 bucks then you wont have to worry about wiring it. it plugs directly into your stock wiring harness!!

Ok guys:
I bought a sony Xplod car stereo for my dad overseas. The car audio guy is bugging him for a antenna pin adapter. This is supposedly something that connects the external antenna and the headunit stereo. Does anyone have an idea as to what this might be? The sony site does not have any part listed. Where can I get this?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Quick-BrowZer feature lets you search and select songs by category, including artist, album, genre, or playlist. Jump Mode gets you closer to the song you want by allowing you to fast forward through a music category in 10 percent increments. With Zappin feature, you can play music in 6, 9, or 30-second clips until you find the song you’re looking for.

6-Channel/2 V RCA Output with Subwoofer Control
With three sets of RCA outputs, you are free to add external power amplifiers to create a more powerful, sophisticated audio system. Also, independent volume control is enabled for the subwoofer so you can adjust the level of bass output to your liking at any time, regardless of the output level of the other channels.

Low-Pass Filter for Subwoofer
Switching on the low-pass filter (LPF) will send only the low-frequency range through specified outputs to ensure superb performance with a connected subwoofer. A must if you have or plan to add a subwoofer to your system.
