Built-in HD Radio Tuner
HD radio technology allows CD-quality digital broadcasting of your local AM and FM radio stations. HD radio broadcasts can include multiple channels on the same frequency, which is called multicasting. With multicasting, you can receive up to three additional multicast channels: HD2, HD3, HD4. With your HD5112 radio, you will receive HD radio digital broadcasts automatically when tuned to a station that offers HD radio technology. Learn more about HD radio in our handy guide on the topic.
Satellite Radio Ready
With a subscription to XM or Sirius satellite radio, you’ll enjoy access to a ton of music, news, talk shows, sports, and traffic information with CD-quality sound throughout the United States.
Of course, there’s standard radio as well. Pull up one of your favorites instantly with six FM and six AM presets.

Supports MP3/WMA Files via CD-R/RW, SD card, or USB
The HD5112 can play MP3/WMA directly from files contained on a CD-R/RW, SD card, or USB device using the buttons on the receiver. Burn a disc or just quickly drag some files to a USB jump drive or SD card, and head out the door with your latest faves.
Installing a USB device is simple–insert your USB thumb drive into the USB slot on the front of the radio, and the unit will automatically search for MP3 and WMA files on the device and begin playback. Same goes for insertion of an SD card under the front panel.
Made for iPod
This unit is equipped with an iPod-ready function that will allow you to control your iPod (if compatible) using the front panel control buttons. Just hook up your iPod with the included jLink iPod cable and take your iTunes library on the road. The following iPod versions are supported:
- iPod classic 3G (Firmware version 2.2 only), 4G, 5G, 5.5G, 6G
- iPod mini
- iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G
Input/Output
The HD5112 features a 3.5-mm auxiliary input for connecting external devices like MP3 players. If you need a little more power, you can use the rear pre-amp line output to send to an external amplifier.
Customize your Sound
No matter your audio source, dial in settings to get just the sound you need. Use one of three EQ presets–along with bass/treble, balance, and fader settings–or switch on the Loudness feature to optimize listening at low levels.

I love all that this radio has to offer. It sounds great, hooks up to my ipod and best of all, allows me to listen to Sirius/XM. HD radio does not offer much for me, but Sirius really changed how I listen to music. Give this radio a chance. I believe you will really enjoy it too.

I bought this a year ago for $150 in order to replace the old cassette-radio player in my car. Since then, I’ve had virtually no problems with this product.
I tried the mp3-cd player, USB input, SD card input, and they all sounded great. The HD radio worked great too.
It’s easy to use, it looks good, it was a good value when I bought it (and I see that it’s even cheaper now). It has iPod features for all you tools out there. And the remote control is useful when people in the back want to change the song.
I really don’t see any weaknesses with the Jensen HD 5112. Everything works well.
I wish there it could play DVDs, but then, I would’ve been paying twice that amount.

Warning: Do not buy this product, it’s like a huge piece of cheese at the end of a maze, but I promise you you will only get shocked.
I’ve had this thing two days and it ate the first cd I put into it and hasn’t ejected it yet and the USB and SD memory cards are extremely glitchy. I’ve tried 5 different cards with numerous combos of mp3s and so far it’s played 15 seconds of one song before it glitched and gave me USB ERR. The overall feeling of this deck seems to be a prototype that should have never been actualized. The controls are weird and some of them don’t do anything (Mono sum button for the radio didn’t work). It’s a real piece of work.
Top this off with customer service that’s apathetic with an obvious sub-par product that should be recalled (I unfortunately found out about the other negative reviews and issues after I bought this player).
I’ve wasted $200 in install/deinstall fees because the warranty doesn’t cover any of them and now am stuck with a hole in my dashboard. Shame on Jensen.

This Jensen stereo is great for playing my ipod, or the radio, but is complicated when trying to play an SD card. It is NOT INTUITIVE!
I can play MP3s on my PC easily, but this requires learning their method of storing songs.
It has one oddity that I haven’t troubleshot yet, it will be playing music on the radio and it will self switch to the ipod and visa versa. I don’t know if it is defective or I am not doing something wrong.
I would want something that is more intuitive for my next purchase, less time consuming to learn operations

The product gets the job done but u can also tell it is cheap. The usb part works great which that is what I purchased it for. The radio feature doesn’t work as great however, the reception is weak and sometimes it comes in unclear. But overall it gets the job done for the price its a great bargin.
