I have had this receiver for a year, and the good points balance the bad. First, it can quickly access cd, sd, or usb files, Second, you can create folders in any of these media and skip whole folders at a time instead of going 1 by 1 through tracks. It also displays the full name of the track you’re listening to. Unfortunately, I live in So Cal, and the radio at 98.7 and 106.7 gets serious static when I drive fast. Also the remote is bulky and buttons are hard to use. Finally, the next track button (>>) just broke today, although it still responds if I push really hard. Overall, the features are great, but the buttons are low grade.
This radio was a great price, and it compared to some very expensive radios. I have built many car stereo systems and was very impressed
this radio was such a disappointment, there was so many things i didn’t like, first it is to bright for night driving and it doesn’t have a dimmer option, the volume knob is to sensitive and goes to bass/treb/etc, the CD player skips on any little bump, there is no option to change the display, you have to touch the ( D ) button to see the time if you can see it while your driving, the remote is to big. the radio has static on every station local or distant, it sounds like its in a tin can. limited equalizer options. i guess you get how i feel about this radio, not good enough to call it a car stereo system for a vehicle. it’s not worth $50 bucks, i won’t take it for free
product as advertised, shipment on time, pleased with the service. am injoying my radio, no problims.
I bought this stereo so I could charge my Zune and listen to it simaltaneously. Although, the USB input only works for listening to harddrives, I was able to charge it via the USB, and listen to it via the Aux input. Well a couple of days ago the left channel just stopped working all of the sudden. I checked the cable to see if that was the problem and it wasn’t, so I took it apart to see if they’re were any obvious shorts in the cable and there weren’t. I think the problem is that the solder joints on the circuit board are poorly done, and the heat of the car might have caused them to short out. Extremely disappointing, and I wouldn’t buy anything from Phase Linear ever again.
