I easily installed the Car kit in little time. Having a stereo though with no Auxiliary input I am relying on the FM transmitter. Living in a large but not to large metropolitan area I have trouble finding an open frequency thus giving interferance quite often. Even when having good reception I find that the trasmitter is quiter than a normal radio station (although you can set the transmition volume). Overall the kit is good.
If you are going to buy a Pioneer Inno and you want to listen to it in your car you are going to have to buy this accessory. It includes what you would expect like the XM antenna, cigarette lighter power cord, and two different types of cradle attachments so that you can easily use the Inno in your car and the cassette tape adaptor. I have had pretty good success with the FM modulator whether I am in the woods or in the city, but of course having a cassette adaptor is going to provide the clearest reception when playing it inside of your car.
It is probably a little expensive price wise for what you get, considering that all of these goodies probably cost 10 bucks to make total, including with shipping. But then again, you did buy the Inno in the first place and that means that you could afford to put down at least $300.00 for portable satellite radio and MP3 player in one and that to me pretty must justifies charging another $70.00 bucks to the Inno in your car.
The Car Doc itself is everything it is billed as and works just fine. I’m somewhat annoyed that Pioneer disabled the FM Broadcast functionality (where you can listen to the Inno via an FM Radio) so that that feature is ONLY enabled within the Inno when docked in the “car” doc (vs. the home dock). This means that if you want the superior quality of listening to the Inno via a home FM receiver you cannot use the home doc that comes free with the Inno. Instead, you have to pay another car doc and use it in your home. This seems like a complete rip-off especially on a purchase that wasn’t inexpensive to begin with.
This car kit took me about 10 minutes to install. Works great. This purchase was an upgrade from an earlier model. Works much better than the old XM car kit.
Of course you have to run the car XM antenna under the dash and around the car trimming but over all the install is easy and it works just as I expected. Makes using your Inno in your car a breeze.
