i was actually dumb enough to install two of these. the first one i purchased on amazon. it was professionally installed. it worked for about an hour. then the sound works but no picture. just a blue screen. amazon like always was great with the replacement. they emailed me a return label for the old dvd player and overnighted a new one and i got it the next day. i had the old one removed and the new one installed at the same time. this one does not work either. the second one i got has a different problem. it works for about 30 minutes and then powers off. it does turn back on, on its own. it restarts the dvd were it left off. but then only plays for about 2 minutes at a time after that and powers off and on. i have spent a lot of money on install on these. ugh!! i just want a dvd for the kids in the van to keep them happy.
We thought this would be a great deal and bought it for our new Jeep.We dropped the car and the DVD player off to get it installed at a professional place and they’ve called us to tell us that everything works great except it won’t play any DVD.It just kept rejecting them.
I am so glad that they’ve checked that thing first before putting it in the car.Our brand new Jeep would have been ruined.I’ve returned that item and we’ve went with a flip down from Car Toys.At the end I’m glad we did and everything works the way it’s supposed to be with a lifetime warranty on the installation and a year warranty on the flip down.Sometimes it’s worth to pay a little more.
We’ve had another 15″ tv in our car and it worked great, but only lasted three years. This one was less than half the cost of our other one, but so much harder to install, the audio is fuzzy, but that could be that we just need to change the station it is on. The power doesn’t stay on all the time, so when we are ready to watch a movie, we have to unplug in and plug it back in to get power. Plus now we don’t have lights throughout the whole car. I guess we are just going to have to hire a professional to install it.
