How do I enter the unlock code for a car radio?

Question:
I own a 1998 Chevy Cavalier. I recently had some work done on my car and my radio is displaying loc. I have misplaced my owner’s manual and really don’t want to pay for a replacement. My serial number is 322, 326. I called the GM number and they gave me the code of 1953. I am confused! How do I enter this? My numbers on my radio are only 1-6. Please help me. Thanks.

I have had similar problem , I contacted dealer , they did this for me . Try some BestBuy , CircutCity , American, any car audio store , they are usually nice people should show you everything .
There are usually a row of Preset Buttons and so for code 1953
Keep pressing Preset 1 until 1 appears on the display
Keep pressing Preset 2 until 9 appears
Keep pressing Preset 3 until 5 appears
Keep pressing Preset 4 until 3 appears
Then press Preset 5 to enter
