If you have an aftermarket car radio and want to install another, are they the same basic hookups?

Question:
I currently have a JVC KD-HDR1 radio in my car and am looking to give to my husband and purchase a Pioneer DEH P-4000UP. Since it is an aftermarket radio, will this be difficult to install, or will the installation be basic since they are both aftermarket radios. We are getting the Pioneer from Crutchfield so we will have all the installation sheets. Any guidance would be helpful. We don’t really want to spend over $100 for install if this could be a simple job. Thanks.

Ask crutchfield to also sent you the wiring adapter. It is easy to hookup, but not all radios have the same. Crutchfield is great about the hookups.
All you have to do is cut the old JVC harness off the adapter and connect the pioneer harness to the adapter. Viola. Done. It’s really very simple.
Generally speaking, the changeover is simple enough. If your husband is half way a handyman, and has a basic understanding of electrical systems, he should have no problem that cannot be overcome.
if it was installed by a shop they should have used a harness its just as simple to get another hare for the car and the brand of radio you have .If there is no harness the wiring for the radio and speakers are or should be
on the back of the radio
yes its easy. its almost the same set up the only thing that changes r the speaker cable colors.
