What is the average cost to replace a car stereo system?

Question:
I have a CD player/stereo and the CD player is constantly having trouble playing my CD’s.I have a brand new CD player/Stereo that I want to swap with the one in my car.About how much should I expect to pay to have that done for me?

not more than 50 dollars labor but keep in mind that you will probably haave to buy an adapter kit that usually runs between 15.00-30.00..good luck
it all depend on what type of car sterio you have to be replaced. it ranges from $150.00 to $750 just for labor. However if you purchase one at circuit city, it wont cost you anything since they would instal it for free.
if your wanting to have it done professionally it could cost you anywhere from 50$ to 150$. I recommend that you try to install it yourself. if you go to wall-mart, best-buy, or circuit city you should be able to buy a wire harness that makes that install so simple you should be able to do it by yourself. (a wire harness cost about 15$) the harness is colorcoted so that you can easily attach it to your new head unit (the CD player) before getting into the car. And because the wire harness was made for your vehicle it plugs right into the wire plugs left after pulling the old head unit out. (the dash board can be a little tricky to take off if you have to but refer to the owners manual it should tell you how to take it out if not then look for a Hayes or Chilton repair manual at auto zone, o’reilys, or advanced auto parts.
