Why would my sons car radio stop working after the alternator was fixed?

Question:
My son has a 97 900 Saab that had the alternator repaired. When he got the car back the car radio would not turn on to put the code in. Did the alternator affect that and what could we try?

Check the fuse.
They almost certainly disconnected the battery and perhaps disconnected the radio depending upon how it was hooked up.(especially if it was poorly wired)
check the fuses to see if any are blown
a lot of cars have any anti theft system on car radios that might have been triggered, or maybe they shorted out the circuit for the radio and the wires are fryed, but pretty unlikely. your best bet is to call saab and ask them if that problem is a common occurance.
first, check the fuse. there is a seperate fuse just for the radio.
they should have disconnected the battery during the alternator replacement. if not , and it isnt the fuse, they probably shorted out something replacing the alternator.
check if power is getting to the fuse box at the radio fuse.
