I got this adapter for a Sony satellite-ready AM/FM/CD deck (CDXGT630UI) and it works great along with the NP2000UC XM Direct2 satellite receiver. Since I bought the deck at BestBuy, I had them install this adapter, the NP2000UC, and the deck. The adapter provides seamless integration between the deck and the XM receiver. Since the adapter and XM receiver are installed behind the dash, there are no cigarette lighter plug-ins for the XM radio and no unsightly wires hanging about, as I had previously with an XM “Roady2″ add-on.
Per AudioVox support, this adapter works with all of the CDXGT6* series of decks, even though their support document that lists compatible decks doesn’t list it (the doc’s not quite up to date).
I purchased this to connect to a Kenwood KDC-X692 head unit. When the product came, they shipped me the one for a Sony, not a Kenwood. I looked up the product again, and noticed that they have model #CNPSON1 right in the title. The model number should be #CNPKEN1. I purchased a cable at Bestbuy in town and it is indeed different from the Sony. In all, the cable works great, but Amazon needs to change their model number on their site.
