The PESWIPS allows the retention of the OEM steering wheel or rear seat radio controls when replacing the factory head unit. Works with most Pioneer and Sony Steering Remote Ready radios. The PESWIPS assigns the buttons on the vehicles steering wheel to aftermarket radios available functions.

My installer spent quite a few hours trying to program this. Eventually, he called Pioneer and they told him that it wouldn’t work because my head unit, AVH-P6000DVD, is “too new” to be compatible. I wish I had known that before ordering. Now I’m stuck with a product that I can’t use and a steering wheel that doesn’t control my radio like it’s supposed to. The product description makes it seem like it’s compatible with all Pioneer and Sony models.
