I bought this stereo for the sole reason to listen to long messages/sermons that I’d burn to a MP3 cd. I’m unhappy how the unit fast-forwards / rewinds within a track. You have to hold the fast-forward or rewind button, and the track slowly advances about 5 seconds for every second you hold the button. This works great when you have a small music track, but if you have a 50 minute track it’ll take five minutes of holding the button to fast-forward from the start to the end! Most stereos I’ve had gradually make this process go faster and faster, but not with this unit. I’ve read through the instruction manual and there is no way to make this any faster!
I’m also not too thrilled about the interface. It’s not very intuitive, and you definitely need to keep the manual around to do more advanced options. Also, with the “dark” look to it, it’s hard to see the writing on the buttons during the day.
Also the unit beeps at you when you turn off your car, presumably to remind you to remove the faceplace before you exit the vehicle. I have no need to remove the faceplace, nor do I want to hear this beep. Unfortunately there is no way to turn this off!
Playblack is fine though, I have no issues whatsoever with the sound quality.
It’s a good stereo, don’t get me wrong, however I’m just warning you about my experience, since this is hard information to gather before you buy it.

Yes! I love my new Sony Xplod. This thing delivers for a cheap radio/CD player. Easy install! I’ve got my Zen Vision M hooked up via the Auxiliary cable. Don’t hesitate!
