Tried it in two different cars, same result. Even though I replaced with the exact 1/2 amp fuse, it blows as soon as I plug in. I even checked the voltage to make sure it was at 12 volts.
I bought one of these for around $30 since I had gotten an IPOD for my birthday and I didn’t want to carry around cds anymore. Since the brand is “Serious Sound” I thought the sound quality really would be serious since it was written all over the package… Yea, seriously crappy. The thing that really pissed me off is that the Trouble Shooting guide that came with it even said it is a “low output fm transmitter” which basically means you are gonna get terrible sound through your radio no matter what.
Any FM transmitter is not gonna sound good, period. Unless you only listen to FM radio in your car it won’t be a problem. But if you want crystal clear music, your music needs to be played through your cd player and that’s your only option. Unless you have one of the newer car stereo systems that come with the AUX port where you plug a cable through your IPOD (for instance) to the stereo itself. Which I suggest you would be better off with.
Overall, this little piece of junk should not be purchased by anyone at all and this is why I am reviewing it. They don’t need to make any more profit by selling garbage. They don’t even deserve to bare the name “Serious Sound” if their products aren’t that great to begin with and sound nowhere near serious.
The reason I give it 2 stars is the unknown fact by many, is that you can charge your IPOD through the USB cable. But since the reviewer below said both of his fuses busted, I don’t really trust it.
My message is clear: STAY AWAY FROM THIS
Too much interference……..dont work dont buy it!

On paper, this seems like a good device. Wow, play your CD player, Ipod, or even a portable 8-track player (if you have one) wirelessly through your FM stereo! And to top it off it can double as an MP3 player using your memory stick! Wow!
Well, it’s not all that it seems. Just to be fair, and to be able to justify giving this product a star, I’ll start with what I liked about this product.
It did play my MP3s. A little bit of static, but hey it’s wireless so I didn’t expect perfection.
It’s small and portable. Will work in almost anyones car so you can take your tunes with you to a friends car.
That’s all that’s good. Now the bad.
I had to turn my radio really loud to hear the MP3 player. Even when I did the hold play and fast forward down to turn up volume trick, it still played to low.
When I turned the car off, any settings it had (what channel I had it set to, the volume level) were lost.
The channel numbers were mircoscopic. There is room to make them bigger.
Now for the really bad!
When I tried to use it to listen to my CD player, thats when I discovered just how bad this item is. HORRIBLE static like you would not believe. No matter what I did it sounded terrible! Broadcasts from the space shuttle sound better!
Conclusion.
That convinced me to return this product and replace it with a Scosche FM-MOD01 Modulator. Can’t play MP3s but has much better sound quality.
It works well. Before purchase, when I read the reviews people mentioned that it starts from where it stopped. However it is not true. This makes little bit frustration. Does it has any adjustment to start from where it stopped?!!!!!
